Plato’s Allegory of the Cave: Some prisoners, who have been chained in a cave for their entire lives, look at shadows on the back wall of a cave and attempt to determine reality. Both natural elements that pass the cave’s opening and the cave keepers create the shadows on the wall. The keepers randomly select a prisoner to drag out of the cave. He is blinded by the light before finally realizing that this new reality is the real reality. When he is placed back in the cave, he is no longer good at playing shadow games because his eyes now fail to adjust to…
